Fly-In Acres Real Estate and Homes For Sale

Fly-In Acres

After World War II Travis Bailey opened a flying school with his brother and another partner at the Stockton Air Field. One of his students said he owned a piece of land in Calaveras County that would be great for people to fly in and vacation, and it had a large house with a swimming pool that could be turned into a lodge. To provide more capitol to develop the property the Bailey Family sold the large house and the property was carved out for the subdivision. The first streets were Meadow, Middle and Bonfilio. Later, streets such as Lightning and Mustang were developed and named after World War II planes.
